When Rev. Rogers passed away, Rev. Smallwood was called as pastor.  The church continued to work and grow in size under his leadership.

In 1932 Rev. James Dublin was called to pastor Central Baptist Church. At that time, we were located at 48 Jersey Ave, Jersey City, New Jersey. He served as pastor until his illness deteriorated and prevented him from fulfilling his duties and obligations as pastor. During Rev. OUR MISSION

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

(Matthew 28: 19-20)

OUR VISION

We the people of God affectionately known as the Central Baptist Church will seek with our whole heart to implement a holistic ministry that will provide leadership and guidance and commit and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus the Christ, and governed by the "Word of God" and not the "philosophies" of men.

Furthermore, we are committed to "walk by faith and not by sight" (2 Cor. 5:7) because we believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we may have everlasting life. Finally, we believe that God has called us to be a light in darkness who are loss and seek direction and guidance.

We obligate ourselves to point lost men, women and youth towards the kingdom of God by developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
